Biography
Dr. Zenglu Li is a professor/soybean breeder/geneticist at University of Georgia. He received his Ph.D. degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Georgia, he worked in two Seed Companies as a research scientist and team leads in Discovery and Molecular Breeding for 12 years. He has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a co-inventor on five patents. He has won two Above & Beyond awards and one Research Innovation Award from Monsanto Company. His career focus has been to increase crop productivity and seed composition by integrating molecular breeding methodologies into classical breeding. He serves PI and co-PI in many grants funded by USB and other agencies.
