$763,166
Brief Project Summary:
We propose two projects within this budget: 1). to develop a new database that encompasses checkoff-funded research nationwide for ALL aspects of the new strategic plan: innovation and technology, health and nutrition, and infrastructure and connectivity. 2). To continue this year maintaining the current National Soybean Checkoff Research Database (NSCRD) until combined into the All-inclusive database once built and implemented. The All-Inclusive database would efficiently feed communications efforts for all partner websites on specific topics, such as human health and nutrition, aquaculture or global demand — much like the National Soybean Checkoff Research Database feeds the Soybean Research & Information Network (SRIN): www.SoybeanResearchInfo.com through communicators working on those research projects.

Final Project Results

This project had a dual focus: first, enhancing and updating the existing database, and second, architecting a new, all-encompassing solution. A pivotal question guided this effort: "What problem does the new all-inclusive database solve for us?" Collaboration with stakeholders expanded its scope, tackling challenges in information access, collaboration, and decision-making. Our holistic strategy involved setting clear objectives, advanced data modeling and ensuring scalability. Goals spanned data integrity, regulatory adherence, user training, and feedback mechanisms. This comprehensive, feature-rich database will optimize resource allocation, heighten awareness, and amplify soybean research impact across sectors, aligning seamlessly with organizational objectives.

Benefit To Soybean Farmers

The all-inclusive soybean research database, supported by the soy checkoff, greatly benefits farmers by integrating valuable insights from various sectors. Farmers gain access to research-backed information on plant production, food, feed, exports, biobased products, and fuel. This collaboration between the database and soy checkoff-supported research empowers farmers with data-driven strategies for crop management, market adaptation, and sustainable practices. The synergy between comprehensive research findings and accessible database functionalities enhances the overall impact, aiding farmers in making informed decisions that contribute to increased productivity, resource optimization, and resilience in the dynamic landscape of soybean cultivation.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
